Vegan City now in 250 Major U.S Cities
VEGAN CITY is now represented in 250 major US cities with the largest being Portland with 70 members and is currently planning its development for other major cities in the world and working on a ‘one vegan meal a week initiative’
VEGAN CITY.. is a non-profit committed to building sustainable, thriving and compassionate communities. It was founded in May 2008 by Charlie Warren and Sarah Coffin, who are both athletes and marathon runners, health conscious, concerned about the environment and very compassionate towards animals. They became Vegan after watching the movie Earthlings and then moved to the San Francisco bay area because of the important veg community over there and then moved to Sarah’s home town in Ann Arbor. VEGAN CITY helps connect likeminds who are on a vegan diet and making the transition to one through volunteer initiated local meet ups. It works by having an online map which locates each ‘Vegan City’ group and links to your local facebook group and organiser ~ the facebook events function is used to organise the meetups. They also offer advice for those who would like to become an organiser themselves
