Maggie tells Patrick, “Have you heard? We are moving!”
From Love the Animals
Our Sanctuary Must move NOW!
Aloha Friends,
The lovable animals of Love The Animals are moving from the town to the country. We really need a $10,000 fund to get everyone set up. Fencing, shelter, vetting, supplies, etc. ASAP.
I was just thinking on my way home from the Education Center… I just dont understand why it is so hard or unlikely that i should be able to find 1000 people to give $10 to help us fund this move to the newer larger country location for the 140+ rescued animals of Love The Animals. It is a challenge but why should it be? I should be able to post, and we as a community should be able to pass the post and info around, and should be able to raise that $10,000 easily.
I know it sounds like a lot of money, but it is the least i could ask for to start the set up of the sanctuary. Trust me, we could really use $100,000… but, $10,000 would start the ball rolling. Maybe I am not promoting this work correctly. Please understand I am one person, with humble means…. I dont even like to ask for money… i do it for the animals. 1000 people donating $10 should be achievable. Well… we will see… what we are made of.
Please give a little Love $$$. We are still in the early phases of this work, one day we wish to be one of the largest animal organizations in the world, helping many many animals directly. DIRECTLY! The huge orgs make millions, we are only asking for $10,000 to set up this sanctuary for animals at the 33 acre location. I will not even get into the funds needed to set up and create the 111 acre sanctuary (starting with $2000 for year rent* a really great price) Anyways. 45 ex battery hens, 3 roosters, 2 turkeys (and counting) 12 (plus one) pigs, 5 (maybe soon 6) goats, 10 bunnies (and counting) 2 parakeets, 12 chameleons, 1 (maybe soon 2) tortoises, 38 guinea pigs, 2 dogs, 3 (plus the strays) cats, 2 rats, 2 goldfish, * ALL RESCUED FROM SLAUGHTER, NEGLECT or ABUSE and others who needed a home as their people were moving or ran out of money to feed them. We must be here for these animals and more, and have a beautiful place for them to go and live their beautiful lives.
I personally feel rescue and sanctuary is one of the best forms of activism to support. It not only directly helps individual animals, but the work itself gets people thinking in a different way automatically, without the need for words – the actions and animals speaks to their hearts and minds. They ask why I do this, I introduce them to someone, one of the animals… and say for them, they want to live. Also, it changes the energy in the world, another animal rescue… until they are all rescued. Many people tell me the limiting thought, you cant save them all, and I notice most of these people dont save any. We believe the day will come…

At the new location they will have a panoramic ocean view, I always promise to find them the best locations to live, it is the least i can do. The upper ten acres of the 33 acres is directly between a view of the ocean below and the mountain above, stunning! They deserve it, but i cant do it without you!
We just began promoting this, but to see no donations in… not a good sign… ouch!
$10. Is it asking too much? I ask for them, they cant ask themselves. I will not give up on them, or you, or this work. This MUST happen, PLEASE DONATE.

Short Pig update:
The amazing pigs are doing great and getting along. Some are losing the extra pounds and others are gaining the needed weight. All 12 of them must move from their current location NOW. Phase one fencing for 10,000 square feet area is $2400, and we will need more of those for the other animals too (goats and pigs). Luckily we are building the welcoming area in an already fenced in area so that we dont have to double fence *double cost* to protect the pigs from the feral pigs. We are still without Rosie’s father, but he will join us at the new location. He has to be neutered, trimed, and vaccinated – $400, and to load him and take him to the vet, then to current location, then to new location is just too much moving, he is too big. So we are waiting until we are set up at new location for him to join his family. This is the location that we originally planned to move the pigs to, but when they went for sale as meat, we couldn’t wait…
Someone is selling the property next door to the current location and feels the pigs will scare away buyers, and so they called the health dept. complaining that it is not agriculture zoned land. How nice. The health dept. will be coming soon for inspection – yikes! The fact that there is agricultural land 200 feet away with a herd of cows doesn’t matter, and the fact that we are a sanctuary and not a farm also technically doesn’t matter either.
