Help Clean Up St. Johns River

Volusia County is looking for volunteers to help clean up the St. Johns River, Florida

Next Saturday, crews will fan out along the water for the 14th annual River Cleanup Day.

Last year, more than 400 volunteers picked up more than 14 tons of debris along the water.

Volunteers will gather at several different locations.

The county is asking volunteers to pre-register online.

The 14th Annual
St. Johns River Cleanup
June 12, 2010
8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

In conjunction with National River Cleanup Week, the next St. Johns River Cleanup is scheduled for June 12, 2010

Participants will also receive a t shirt.

Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes and bring work gloves. Rakes, shovels, and trash grabbers may be helpful but not necessary. Steps should be taken to protect yourself from the sun. Bottled water is a good idea to bring. Registration is now closed.
